Immediate Opening: Post Doctoral Research Associate in Infrared Optical
Devices and Metamaterials
Immediate post doctoral research associate opening to fabricate and characterize new engineered metamaterials for advanced infrared optical device and standoff detection applications. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related discipline and have experience in nanofabrication and optical characterization techniques. Demonstrated proficiency in optical and electron beam lithography, chemical and physical vapor deposition, reactive ion etching, field emission scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, and absolute optical reflectance and transmission measurements are needed. Experience in deposition and processing of conducting polymer materials is beneficial, but not necessary. Penn State University is an equal opportunity employer.
